Liverpool Port Information

Liverpool Cruise Terminal has a reputation as one of the most desirable cruise destinations in Europe. Centrally placed in the Irish Sea, Liverpool is an efficient, friendly and convenient UK departure point, rich in maritime heritage and the birthplace of the first passenger cruise line. Cruise Critic awarded Liverpool as the ‘Best UK Port of Call’ three times in the last Four years and in 2015 Seatrade crowned Liverpool 'Destination of the Year'.

The Liverpool Cruise Terminal is a single storey, modular building, directly adjacent to Liverpool’s iconic Liver building.

  • Embarkation and disembarkation take place in the same shared space and so for this reason, it is important that guests adhere closely to your allocated check-in time which can be found on your cruise ticket.
  • Should you arrive before the disembarkation is complete then you may be asked to use one of the nearby cafes, restaurants and bars located directly adjacent to the cruise terminal on Pier Head until Embarkation can commence.
  • Please see the Cruise Liverpool Website for full information on Embarkation & Disembarkation.

Postcode for Satnav is: L3 1DL

By Road

Leave the M6 at junction 21A, and take the M62 towards Liverpool until you reach the end, keeping directly ahead for the A5080. Continue on this road until it merges into the A5047, following signs to Liverpool City Centre, Albert Dock and Central Tourist Attractions. Follow the brown signs on the arterial routes for ‘Liverpool and/or Waterfront’ until you reach The Liver Building. ‘Liverpool Cruise Terminal’ is easily identifiable at this point.

Independent passengers arriving at the port should follow the yellow signs for Liverpool Cruise Terminal. Once at the baggage drop area, porters will take all large items of luggage for direct delivery to the vessel – please ensure that all large pieces of luggage are clearly identified with the labels provided with your tickets. The Cruise Passenger Lounge is adjacent to the baggage drop off area. Once you have checked in, there is a walk to the vessel of approximately 200 metres from the vessel along a covered walkway, which can be steep depending on the level of the tide.

Car Parking

Please make your way directly to the Liverpool Cruise Terminal where your luggage will be taken by the porters taken through security and then onto the ship where they will be waiting for you outside your cabin.

Once your luggage has been dropped off please make your way to the CPS Car Park, 3 Kings, Dock Street, L1 8JU.  The car park is about one mile from the terminal and takes about 10-15 minutes to drive between the two locations depending on traffic.   Once you have parked your car you will be taken back to the cruise terminal by the shuttle service.

Car parking must be pre-booked with your tour operator or travel agent. Please ensure that the Car Park Permit is clearly displayed in the windscreen of your vehicle before leaving your vehicle. The Car Parking permit will be included in your Final Cruise Documentation Pack.
